“A MODO MIO” (ITALIAN FOR “MY WAY”) SPEAKS TO BEN SEROTTA’S DESIRE TO CONTINUE PRODUCING BICYCLES OF UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY  THAT REPRESENT THE PINNACLE OF PERSONALIZED ENGINEERING AND PERFORMANCE.

The Serotta Design Studio ethos is to respect the past, challenge the present and shape the future, and it is on full display in each aModoMio. The C18 is a thoroughly modern bicycle optimized for 90% of the riding that 90% of today’s active road cyclists pursue. At its heart, the frame is crafted in North America utilizing a newly minted proprietary ‘bill of materials’ that is exclusive to Serotta Design Studio master artisans.

The aModoMio builds on forty years of function-driven innovation and an obsession for detail. Each part of the frame and fork has been re-imagined, re-designed and re-engineered for today’s road cyclist. Echoing the paradigm changing performance of Serotta’s Colorado Concept designs, the C18 is crafted from the most advanced steel alloys (made exclusively for us by Columbus of Milan, Italy) and delivers a ride that rivals the best of any material.

Our commitment is simple:  Create bicycles that deliver exceptional performance from the first ride and for thousands to follow. That’s what makes component selection as important as frame design. Every component- cockpit, wheels, tires or drivetrain- has an effect on the way you feel on the bike, and the way the bike performs under you. With today’s choice of components so abundant as to be overwhelming for even the most dedicated gear-heads, we’ve narrowed our options to what we believe will provide the best user experience, ride performance, and will stand the test of time while providing clear and logical choices and true value.

The aModoMio C18 is available in both Disc Brake and Rim Brake options with prices ranging from $6,995 to $9,995

Current lead-time is 10 weeks from the time of order.

STANDARD BUILD OPTIONS

The C18 is offered in both disc brake and rim brake configurations, each in electronic or mechanical shifting options.

Which is right for you? Most bike industry experts believe that disc brakes and electronic shifting are the future norm. The reasons are simple. The best disc brakes offer the greatest amount of modulation (finer level of control) and hands down are superior in wet conditions compared to rim brake calipers. As for shifting, soon, you will be able to program your shifts based on cadence or torque, completing your on-the-road training system and more. So for the fully ‘connected’ among you, electronic is the way to go, and in our view, if you want electronic, it should be wireless- no extra wires and connections, no funky wire routing in the frame but with the advantage of smaller interchangeable batteries. For now, SRAM RED eTAP leads the way.

On the other side of the table, a properly engineered disc brake bicycle should weigh slightly more and electronic shifting requires that you own one more thing that needs to be plugged in from time to time.

All of our featured component groups are complete as intended by the parts manufacturer, meaning unlike most companies, we don’t make any cheap substitutions to lower the apparent cost of the bike.

Standard in all of our builds are components that we’ve thoughtfully selected to provide the best user experience while not going overboard on extravagances that don’t necessarily add to the performance.
